PROBLEM STATEMENT

Students transitioning from 2nd to 3rd grade are struggling academically in the transition between 2nd and 3rd grade. 

HOW MIGHT WE…

Develop and provide opportunities for vertical collaboration and planning throughout the school with a focus in 2nd through 3rd grade.

SOLUTION

Development of a scope and sequence document in literacy that will inform instructional decisions. The process is two fold:

a) Implementation of a vertical planning schedule

b) Relocating of second grade classrooms to the Annex building will support collaboration between second and third grade teachers.
