School does not have sufficient number of teachers, and struggles with teacher attendance, student attendance, and effective instruction. School is lacking basic infrastructure and is very isolated.

Build positive school culture and engage community to improve conditions for learning. 

SOLUTION

Musu Kelly and Esther Alieu are the School Capacity Leaders at Hilltown – MTM Public School. They redesigned the school schedule to include weekly, teacher collaborative time where they learn keys to effective, engaging instruction and design lesson plans.They engaged the community to increase student enrollment, improve student attendance, and build housing for teachers near the school.
