PROBLEM STATEMENT

Collaboration and critical thinking is a problem for our middle school  students because they have not been explicitly taught those two skills in engaging ways.

HOW MIGHT WE…

Create a way for students to understand and audit their collaboration and critical thinking skills. 

SOLUTION

We created a student-friendly rubric to measure teaching and learning of collaboration skills. The rubric measures standards that focus on potential student conflict and compromise, as suggested from the students and teacher tested. The rubric is our product; the process is how the teachers will teach, model, practice and provide feedback using the tool.
